Nikon D810
This is my full frame DSLR and is my main workhorse camera. It's strong and weather sealed and has never let me down, and at 36 megapixels the resolution is excellent for making large prints.
Nikkor 18-35mm 1:3.5-4.5G AF-S Zoom Lens
This lens is particularly good for woodland photography because of its large depth of field. I also use it for general landscape photography.
Nikkor 50mm 1:1.4G AF-S Prime Lens
This lens is incredibly clear to the edges with very little distortion, and also has exceptional depth of field.
Nikkor 70-200mm 1:4G ED AF-S Zoom Lens
This lens I use predominantly for narrowing down open landscapes, and for panorama stitches.
Vanguard Alta Pro 263AT Tripod
This is an aluminium full size tripod with a multi-angle centre column and multi-angle legs for getting real low, fitted with a low profile precision ball head. It's a little heavy for carrying up large hills, but is very stable.
I always use an electronic shutter release cable with a tripod to avoid vibrations.
Filters
I use the LEE 100 system with 3 main filters; a Polariser; a 0.9 soft Grad; and a Little Stopper.
Backpack
I find the Vanguard Sedona Wanderlust a very nice compromise sitting in the middle of the bigger expedition packs, and smaller daypacks.
It easily holds my full frame DSLR, 3 lenses, filters, and a heap of accessories, with plenty of room in the top section for my cloths and food. I can also mount my tripod on either the front, or on the sides.
